Spring Brooks 2010

Brooks, Oregon, June 16-20, 2010: This year’s fun fly was one of the best I have ever had! I was able to get in more flying this year than ever before, and I still managed to get over 200 pictures of people and helis, and several HD videos! Several friends came up from California for the first time; Chad Sackman from Pegasus Hobbies in Montclair, CA came up a week early to attend my wedding and stuck around for the fun fly, and the Castle Creations R&D team of Tim Jones, Ian Crane, and John Riperti came up Thursday for the fun fly. We were excited to have nearly the entire flight line full of helis all weekend. With up to 10 active flight stations, there was some great flying going on by all! One thing that seemed a little different from years past is everybody was very focused on just doing their thing and getting as much flying as possible. There wasn’t as much flying going on right at stage center as years past, it seemed to be more spread out up and down the flight line.
I was able to get in 18 FPV flights with my Stryker, including two at night that were absolutely incredible! My Stryker finished the weekend without a scratch, but I did mangle my FPV Protos. After one successful FPV heli flight, I tried to “put it on the X” and tipped it over. I’ll be putting together some video’s from this weekend, but I wanted to get this short article up with pictures ASAP!
