Zap-O Foam Safe CA; Best Foam Safe CA Yet?

As a modeler who likes to build both kits and from scratch, foam is a fantastic lightweight, inexpensive material. Finding a good glue for the stuff, however, can be a challenge. Foam Safe CA’s (Cyanoacrylate) have been around for some time, but I have never had the opportunity to use Zap-O’s brand name product, until now. In the process of wrapping up my first prototype of the Living Room Flyer (click here to read about the LRF Design Contest) I ran out of Foam Safe CA. You cannot use regular CA on most types of foam without melting it; the foam safe variety, as its name implies, won’t eat the foam. I stopped by my closest hobby shop, Coyote Hobby, and they were out of all the Foam Safe brands I was familiar with. I have used several others and had a varied degree of success, but with the Zap-O being the only choice on this given day, I gave it a shot. I was not disappointed.
Zap brand CA’s have always had a great reputation, and I used them extensively when I was a kid building a lot with balsa. As soon as I began using this product I knew it was a winner! In fact, I was so impressed how much better this product works than any other Foam Safe CA I’ve tried, I had to share it with you, my readers. This glue doesn’t even seem to need accelerator, although there is a sticker recommending its use on the bottle. I was able to use a tiny amount of glue, and the foam stuck better than anything I could achieve with other products. If you are building a foam model, I would highly recommend you take a look at Zap-O Foam Safe CA! (product #PT-25)
