Its Giveaway Time! Who Wants A Free Helicopter???

For the first time in Baron’s Hobbies history, we are doing something to thank you, the Baron’s Hobbies reader. How about a free helicopter? Suitable for beginners and advanced heli fliers alike, the LA Heli Sniper is a unique helicopter with parts support from GotHeliRC in the US. The Sniper is a fun helicopter; this author’s favorite maneuver with it was performing autorotations. The Sniper does not have a driven tail for tail control during autorotations, but this actually ends up being a benefit. With a light disk loading and no tail to drive, the Sniper will float and float coming in without power. Flying without a driven tail does not present a problem, with no torque to compensate against during an auto, the tail will weathervane, and at the bottom of your auto it will do a 1/4 piro as you bite in to the pitch to arrest the decent. The Sniper has served duty as my practice helicopter for autorotations, but I want to see someone else enjoy it before I love it to death. This model has never been crashed, and has never had a part fail.
If you want to win this model, all you have to do is post a response to this article with the word “Sniper.” Please post a reason why I should give you the helicopter. To post here at Baron’s Hobbies you will have to register. To complete the model a 6 channel helicopter radio with servos, gyro, speed control, battery, charger and motor will be required to fly. The Sniper features a full carbon fiber frame, with lots of machined metal goodies and a nicely painted canopy. Its tough to let it go, but I know someone else will get more use out of it. The winner will be picked by me, Aaron Shell, on the 31st of July, 2009.
No electronics are included, this giveaway is just for the airframe. Shipping within the continuous US will be covered. If you win the model and are outside the US, you will have to cover the shipping expenses yourself.

The reason I should win is because I’m ready to move up from an HBFP/guruz and something with a light disk loading is what I’m comfortable with. I have the correct electrics, but not the funds or nerve for a heavy-ish class of heli yet. This look as it would fit the bill nicely.
i should win the sniper because we have the same name, aaron , not sniper, though i am open to changing it, or adding sniper to my name ( would make air travel and letters to elected officials kind of risky though) also i would be a steady revenue stream on replacement / repair parts

I should get the heli because I need more practice with autorotations. I dont take to many unnecessary risk with my only heli (Mini Titan)
SNIPER.
I need this Sniper to quench my desire to own the Sniper II. I’ve quickly learned that owning only 1 E-heli is not possible (Protos). And I want to show all heli pilots in my area that there are SO many unique helis outside of Align. I like being different… and the Sniper is different.
If I am chosen to recieve this heli I will post a video here of me setting fire to my t rex and fanning the flames by hovering over it with the Sniper. (I am serious)
That Sniper is like a piece of artwork. I got into heli’s because they intrigue me with all of the parts and interactions. I should win the Sniper because, I would truly appreciate the art of engineering that it took to create such a masterpiece. It would not be a hangar queen by any means.
Sniper, almost the same as my alias. I could use a light and nimble trainer as well. If I was to win you would not have to ship we could meet up. It would be cool if you would help me tweak my flybarless G5.
I should be chosen because I am new the the hobby. What better way to give away the “Sniper” than to give it to someone who could also continue to use it to practice autorotations. My Blade CP Pro 2 cannot autorotate. It would be a great birthday surprise to learn that I was chosen to receive this beautiful heli, the “Sniper!”

Nice site, and generous of you to give this SNIPER away. All I fly right now is a Mini Titan, which is plenty capable and I have lots of room to grow with, but I would love an excuse to get into something bigger. Plus, of course, I’d love to pick it up and say “hi” in person. Cheers!

I should win because ; my wife would be seriously pissed if she sees another heli in my workshop, and the look on her face when I tell her it was free so she can’t tear me a new one would be priceless

I would like to revise my earlier comment, as I recently sold my t rex 450 (totally forgot about this contest)
I would very much appreciate winning the Sniper. It would have a very good home and would be very well maintained and flown frequently. I Have never had an LaHeli product before, but my friend has had a maxir, ricco and now a flybarless sniper II. From what I can tell, they are a little difficult to setup, but when done correctly, they outperform anthing in their class. If I win the sniper I will not only fly it all the time and keep it in top condition, but I am willing to write articles for your website whenever you ask me. I will be eagerly anticipating the result of this contest.
