Simplicious Is Simply Delicious!

Simplicious on flybyScotty Bouck had an idea for a new wing design using all depron and zero carbon fiber, and he threw together the first Simplicious in a matter of hours to test the wing idea. Despite its R&D time being lighting quick, the first prototype of Simplicious flew miles better than we could have imagined! Despite the fact the model has a 22 inch wing, an all up weight of 5 ounces and no construction material besides thin depron foam, Simplicious is capable of flying an estimated 60 mph and can penetrate in windy conditions that would ground many RCers regardless of what they are flying. In addition, its slow speed characteristics are super forgiving, it tracks straight and true through looping maneuvers inside and out, and its rudder is so effective you can nearly pirouette the model with a stall and a burst of power over the deflected rudder. I was really suprised how well the model flies, and other than 3D abilities, this model is incredibly capable. Scotty scaled one up for me 25% for night flying (that is a whole other topic for another day, but with lights inside, Simplicious is simply too cool for school!) and the bigger version flies just as well and is currently being tweaked to refine it for that size, but the smaller version is great in its initial form.

Simplicious and the big brother

Scotty is gearing up for a first production run of Simplicious. The kit will include all laser cut parts and a complete manual, and without the need for carbon fiber, he hopes to be able to keep the cost very resonable.
