Aerial Photography

Ion-X with camera mountI have been operating a side business as an aerial photographer off and on for several years. The FAA notice of policy in early 2007 mandated that the use of any model aircraft for commercial use was strictly prohibited, and so began a grey area of legality for operators like me. A large group of APers formed the Radio Control Aerial Photographers Assosiation, and this group has spoken for the industry. Recently, RCAPA put up a new notice of policy on their website indicating the fight is over due to inconsistancy and difficulty dealing with the FAA. Click here to read their new policy

bend housing developmentThis is a very interesting topic which I take keen interest in because it affects my ability to make a living with my skills. As it stands, I have many oppurtunities to make an income with my radio control flying skills as an aerial photographer, but the question of legality over my operating raises all kinds of issues.
